Wholesome Poha
Poha is a light and nutritious Indian breakfast made from flattened rice, sautéed with onions, spices, and vegetables. Quick to prepare and easy to digest, it makes a wholesome start to the day. Garnished with coriander and lemon, it’s flavorful and satisfying.
Ingredients:
- Flattened rice (Poha)
- Onion
- Green chili
- Vegetables (optional, e.g., peas, carrot, potato)
- Mustard seeds
- Turmeric powder
- Salt
- Oil
- Fresh coriander (for garnish)
- Lemon juice (for garnish)
Recipe:
- Rinse flattened rice (poha) in water and drain well.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
- Sauté chopped onions and green chilies until soft.
- Add vegetables (optional) and cook until slightly tender.
- Sprinkle turmeric powder and salt, then mix well.
- Add the drained poha and gently toss to combine.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Garnish with fresh coriander, lemon juice, and roasted nuts if desired.
